I suppose they would rather just shift the dm800 and VU clones rather than have to do any work to the 500s design!!!

Unfortunately no Dm500 has a usb port and neither does the Dm600.
You'd think the clone manufacturers would have incorporated a usb port ,it would allow pvr and epg storage on the 500 .
It wouldnt be difficult to code either .

thing is the 500s is a cheap SD box £43 at thats it good enough to watch on a small TV but no good for a big flat screen tv. it does what it says on the tin basic but it works.

yes it does but if you like me my local would be w.yorkshire but it set as north wast granada im happy at it being on that as when i try changing to w.york i lost all my epg so ive just added w.yorks to another bouquet and im not bothered about the epg for it

There's a beta version of Commando 14.6 out and it has the auto bouquets plugin already installed.

I also live in West Yorks so all I did was edit the:

'northwest.local' file so it reads

#Auto Bouquet local: northwest

#replace non local channels with locals
replace "1" "BBC 1 London" "BBC 1 Yorks"
replace "1" "ITV1 London" "ITV1 Yorks W"
replace "5" "Channel 4" "Channel 4"
replace "5" "Channel 5" "Channel 5"
replace "6" "ITV1+1" "ITV1+1"
replace "4" "Channel 4 +1" "Channel 4 +1"

#add irish channels to top of regionals
add_above "1" "BBC 1 Scotland" "RTE One"
add_below "1" "RTE One" "RTE TWO"
add_below "1" "RTE TWO" "TV3"
add_below "1" "TV3" "TG4"
add_below "1" "TG4" "3e"

#delete some rubish channels from regional
delete "1" "9006"
delete "1" "8039"
delete "1" "8010"

Then just pressed

blue>blue>1>red

and selected 'north west' (as I've edited the file for yorks).

Then exited and selected 'Create Auto Bouquets Now' (takes about 10 mins).

Then just reloaded EPG.


I think ITV1+1 is still set to granada but I never watch it anyway.


When they do a full release of Commando 14.6 it should have more areas to choose from by default.


It's a loads easy and more accurate method than using SgtFlipFlop.

I hope I explained that clearly enough.

try this:

replace "10" "ITV1+1" "ITV1+1"

and that should give you ITV1+1 for Yorkshire, the final one in the list of 10.

BTW, if LraiZer pulls it off, there won't be loads of .local files to choose from at all, m8...

hi paphosal ive not got these line in my configs or i cant find them do i just copy and peast this replace "10" "ITV1+1" "ITV1+1" into my local scan file cheers tony

I did know that one was wrong but I couldn't be bothered working out which one it was (plus the chances of me watching some local news on ITV1+1 were are pretty much zero).

I will make the changes to my code for the time being but I'm intrigued and looking forward to the finished version now.
