The suggestion is that Disney will milk the franchise for all it is worth, expect Darth Vader cuddly toys on the shelf by next Christmas,and loads of new characters and props that can be sold as toys to feature heavily.
For those of you in the know, consider the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise, and what happened with that - dozens of new characters used to tell the same old stories, but offering millions in extra merchandising - the island of Sodor now has more locomotives than the rest of the world put together!!!.

Not a bad thing - and thats from a long term Star Wars fan.
3 new films? i'll be first in line, maybe some new stories a bit further away from Lucas's narrow vision. Lets hope they still do the TV Show 'Star Wars : Underground' that was planned.
