Computer Failure!

Had a power surge at work today, one of the PC power supplies blew up and when I tested the components (its my job) every single one (floppy,cd recorder, HDD, CPU, Ram, Mobo) was either dead or in the floppy/cd drives case stayed constantly lit, basically the whole PC is dead/fried. Anyway we took the drive to a repair guy and he quoted (get this) £60 per megabyte of data retrieval, for a 6.4GB HDD like the one we had thats £384,000 LMAO. Needless to say we didnt get it fixed, dang we lost all our email addresses but better than paying out near on half a million quid......

Anyway, just thought I'd share with you my amusing day at work

have you tried using data retrival software yourself

only ask as it might work.

Retrieved all my data after I fdisk'd and formatted my drive once

just wondered ??
