If airport was local then doesnt make sense to use parking. But for someone who travels long distance eg for me to get to heathrow, I prefer it as it works out cheaper than getting coach travel

I normally use Purple Parking on my heathrow visits, cos I get it cheaper by using quidco. Until I finalise my dates later, I aint gonna know if purple parking or NCP is cheaper.
