Challenge has rolled out its "play along" interactive games service to Telewest viewers following a successful launch on Sky Digital.

The service can be accessed by pressing the red remote button whilst watching the channel or by navigating to the 'Games to Play' section in the interactive menu.

TV Scrabble, fronted by GMTV's Eamonn Holmes, is the first programme to get the full interactive treatment. Costing 60p a game, players test their vocabulary and spelling skills against the clock on a tailor-made, computer-graphic version of the familiar board in three hectic rounds of word play.

“Telewest Broadband viewers can immerse themselves in Challenge’s popular programmes like never before," said Ted Evans, Interactive Executive Producer at Challenge. "It’s easier than ever to become a contestant with everything at the touch of a button.”

Challenge plans to roll out a 24/7 interactive TV games service on Telewest, including games based on shows such as Family Fortunes and Celebrity Addicts, before the end of 2003.
