Can't remember name of song

Hi people of the Worldz,

This has been doing my nut in, and I'm sorry it's so little to go on, but I know somebody here will jump straight on it.

I'm trying to remember a song from the early 80's. I think it was a kind of dark wave'ish, Julian Cope kind of voice but the guy singing almost screetched right through it. It may also have been about violence or abuse. Don't think it was one of the bigger, latter mainstream gotic bands.

Does it ring any bells to those even older than me? Nurse must have got you up by now

Oh my god @edds that is bang on mate. I was only 8, funny how you remember things. I've just seen the video for the first time. More new wave than dark wave I'd say lol.

It was the screeching bit and Julian Cope-ish voice that triggered a memory. It was the year I left school, showing my age now.

I recognised the song from the first couple of bars when I searched for it but would have never got the artist and song name.
