i bought a water pump for the mrs Astra, and thought i might as well change Cam Belt to be on safe side at same time. it was replaced about 5 yeras ago with full pully set, but as i am disturbing everything, i want to change belt again to save another larger repair bill.

got home, looked at Haynes Bible, damn, i thought it was gonna be a few bolts and bob's your uncle.

how much would a garage charge if i supplied bits?

is there any DW mechanics on here that would do it for a good price?

cheers in advance.

Dude not many garages will give you much of a discount if you supply the parts ;)

Not done one for a while myself but follow the guide and double check everything and save your self a few quid to buy me a pressie for my birthday ;)

I'm just about to do the same job on my Astra Diesel 16v.

I'll be watchng this thread closely ;)

i think you would be looking at around £150 for a garage to do it mate i would go for a mobile mechanic as there price is around £80 i just got my mums ford escort 55d van done that was the timing belt and all the pulleys for £80 from a mobile mechanic..
