Budget, basic tablet recommendations?

Hi guys, any thoughts on a budget 9"-11" 'tablet for a primitivist?! My needs are very basic; basically only intend to use it for e-reading, maybe watching films on Netflix, and general web-browsing.
I don't know anything about 'tablets'. Nothing! Anyway, I've found a couple for around £70. I'm wondering if either of these are worth a punt:

A branded device like a nexus 7. I know you specified a slight bigger screen size. But the nexus will last you for ages.

Too small, mate. I'm looking for a 10" screen tbh. Thanks for the input though.

Check out what ones are well supported by looking on places like slatedroid or flashmyandroid,and choose that way,tablets using rockchip processor are good budget ones,

One thing i would recommend is get one with an ips screen,cheaper screens really need you to be looking directly at the screen whereas the ips has a very good viewing angle
