The transformation of Bruce Jenner into Caitlyn Jenner reminded me that I have an edition of "MAD" magazine (March 1979) containing a satire of the 1970s "Incredible Hulk" TV series. I attach a scan of one of the pages. For those having trouble reading it, the dialogue in the final panel is as follows:
I was in a terrible accident! But David, here, saved my life!
DAVID?!? He looks more like his name should be "BRUCE"!
As a matter of fact, my name IS "Bruce" in the Comic Book version! But the Producers felt it Wasn't a masculine enough name for TV!
TV sound: "And Jenner wins the Decathlon!! BRUCE is the WORLD'S GREATEST ATHLETE!!"
Events have made this unintentionally ironic!
