Blue Freesat cards in Dreambox 500S

OH guys I think the next step is to erase the image and put on a known
working image and CCcam version.

I currently have in the boxes Darkstar 2 Naiblo image and CCcam+ Newcas,
latest version, also tried CCcam 2.11 on its own, no joy.

OK guys what does work on the DM500s (probably clone)

Regards Finearrow

blue card didn't work for me with CCcam2.11

stick pli image on the box mate, you cant go wrong with that. Keep it simple though cccam and dont bother with newcs theres a time and place for it though dont get me wrong.

Also try the card the other way up there are a few 500 clones with the card readers the other way round.

if where going to get into saying cards dont work with certain versions of cccam at least lets get the versions right.

2.0.11?
2.1.1?

I recomend you use 2.0.11

yes it will read the card with an empty cfg if you wanted to, you will probably want to overclock the card etc so you would add the correct config lines.

OK I've just spotted something--
In Newcs Management under Card Reader status--

When the card is in the reader I get a green tick under status.
When I take it out the green tick turns to a red X.

I guess it knows its in there but cant read it ?

Any thoughts ?

you could try the
<parity>odd</parity>

here is a snippit of my xml from my linux server you will have to ignore the top type/node
<type>smartreader+</type>
<mhz>368</mhz>
<node>/dev/ttyUSB1</node>
<parity>odd</parity>
<autosid>Yes</autosid>
<reset>normal</reset>
<export>Yes</export>
<enabled>Yes</enabled>
<blocksa>Yes</blocksa>
<blockua>No</blockua>
<blockga>Yes</blockga>
<blockC0>Yes</blockC0>
<carddetect>yes</carddetect>
<boxkey></boxkey>
<PTShandshake>no</PTShandshake>
<crypto-special>no</crypto-special>
<Seca-PPV>no</Seca-PPV>
<carddetect>yes</carddetect>
<pincode>0000</pincode>
<newcamd_port>10001</newcamd_port>
<priority>round</priority>
</device>
</readers>

Maybe change some settings in your config to match.

I noticed in the Newcas Manager that it named my card read "Pheonix"
Should this name be in the xml script.

if you have removed the 'lower' card reader from your newcs.xml file, this is your problem, as the receiver only has one card reader, and its on the node labeled as the lower reader

Hi Guys, many thanks to all that chipped in this afternoon with your help to
get my card readers working in my DM 500S's.
Aint got got the solution yet so its back to the drawing board tomorrow, first thing is to erase the image and start from scratch.

Hi Digidude, yes I put that right later but made no difference.

Many thanks

OK guys its me again !

I have erased the image on one DM500s, flashed on Gemini 4.4
(without bomb), downloaded CCcam 2.1.1, cam is running.
Free Sat blue card still not clearing channels ?
Cant seem to find the entitlements window.

I guess these card readers are stuffed.

I dont think I can do any more.

Any ideas guys, please

Hi all, I've given up now, clearly these Dm500s dont want to read my blue FTA cards, I guess I'l have to invest in a TM linux or Smargo Reader.

While I was testing the Gemini image I put in a C line from a pay server I have been testing, SxY on NDS was glitching badly, this is not normaly the case, I erased the flash and put Darkstar 2 image back on, this time SxY nds from the server was perfect, no glitch whatsoever.

Darkstar 2 image has much improved video out on RGB scart on DM500s compared to Gemini and is far more stable on CS, NDS glitch free.

@finearrow

if you want to setup the receiver for remote access m8, ill take a look from here for you and edit any configs needed to get it going, i cant see you having 2 receivers with faulty card readers, the odds of that would be huge

Hi Digidude, thats very good of you, you'l have to tell me how to set it up for remote accesss, but according to practically everybody on here, it should just work!

seen your getting nowhere fast, stick the pli-image (latest) on the box then install cccam 2.0.11.

it will be blue button, software management, downloads, softcams/cardservers. then got older softcams at the bottom and then find 2.0.11.

then post back, and i will talk you through making it default softcam.
