The fourth and final Black Ops 2 expansion contains four new multiplayer maps and a new zombies experience, titled 'Origins'
Teased yesterday and described as "the deepest zombies experience to date", 'Origins' takes place in a Dieselpunk-stylised version of France during the First World War.
Players will encounter the characters from the original zombies map, as well as hordes of the undead and a giant 1,000-foot robot abomination.
It also adds a new perk machine, power-ups and supernatural "Wonder Weapons", such as the diesel-drone and Mark IV tank.
Avenged Sevenfold will contribute the song 'Shepherd of Fire' to the opening cinematic, while DC and Marvel comic book artist Alex Ross will provide original artwork.
Elsewhere, new multiplayer maps include 'Pod', 'Frost', 'Takeoff' and Dig.
'Pod' takes place among a collection of dilapidated residential pods in Taiwan, while 'Frost' is based in a snow-capped European city separated by a bridge.
'Takeoff' and 'Dig', meanwhile, are adaptations of the 'Stadium' and 'Courtyard' maps from Black Ops and World at War respectively.
Priced at 1200 Microsoft Points and free to season pass holders, 'Apocalypse' will be available from August 27 on Xbox Live, with other platforms to follow.
