The BBC has today revealed details of a new marketing campaign to promote its digital TV channels.
BBC personalities Alan Titchmarsh, Pauline Quirke, Jack Dee and Ainsley Harriott will all appear as monkeys in the jungle - the same animal famously used by ITV Digital in its advertisements - in a series of ads informing viewers about BBC News 24, BBC Parliament, BBC Three, BBC Four, CBeebies, CBBC and the ways to receive them.
"The TV trails feature a family of friendly monkeys going digital, deep in the jungle," explained a BBC spokeswoman. "Audiences loved the monkeys in research and found their anthropomorphic charm helped communicate very clearly what the channels are and how to get them."
Matt Lucas will voice the radio ads under the guise of a variety of new characters.
The new campaign begins immediately and will also extend to online promotions
