BBC have announced a range of changes over the coming weeks / months, such as:

• Removing SD Channels
• Closing some channels (mainly locals)
• Merging some channels
• Other small changes

As far as I am aware, the sd switch off in 2024 is only for satellite.

For Terrestrial:
Most TVs are HD capable and it is a fine line/balancing act keeping people with old devices happy and making use full use of the bandwidth. At some stage we should be using DVB-T2 only.
