I think it's quite important the order of doing things when Manual Key Updating so I thought it might be useful to others if I documented the basics n order that worked for me on my 600 n Cli image. I used WinSCP to ftp n edit files as the text editor is linux friendly.

1. Turn off EMU
2. Edit Key file DELETE ALL KEYS
3. Edit Config to Auto Update
4. Reboot
5. Turn on EMU on Sly 1 allow time for auto update
6. Turn off EMU
7. Edit Config to NOT Auto Update
8. Edit Key file to correct key
9. Reboot
10. Turn on EMU

Worked for me, hope it helps anyone struggling

hi , how do you edit config to auto update?

Depends on what EMU you are using

For MgCamd edit user/keys/mg_cfg

# AU
# 00 is ignored (default)
# 01 enable AU
# 02 AU Auto
A: { 00 }

Change
A: { 00 }
to
A: { 02 }

How do i turn off EMU please is it disable cams

Disable CAMs will do it, on the Cli Image change to Common Interface.

I did this just to make sure the files I woz going to edit were not being used to ensure a clean edit!

I would like my CLi to pick up the new keys, so I can see them and edit them

at the moment it shows no new keys, just the last ones I edited, using evocamd 214

how do I make it grab the new 'wrong' keys . . . cheers

If you set A to 02 the au procedure only kicks in if the key in use in the Keylist.txt is nomore valid.
Evocamd looks for the first key00 or key01(depending which one is in use) starting from top of Keylist.txt. Mgcamd look out for the first key starting from the bottom of SoftCam.Key.
Currently chorus is using only key00.

up and running

Many thanks for the helpful posts. Up and running at last !!!!!! Saved me from divorce

Sorry this is prob a bit late, but I did come across this issue!

I ftp'd a new blank keylist.txt over as I think an ownership issue was occuring.
