CD & DVD Backup DVD

I know this is probably a load of rubbish but I would like to know what you guys think.

I received an email trying to sell me some software that lets you use your existing hardware to burn DVDs. I.e your existing DVD drive to read and your CDwriter coupled with this software to write. I can't see this can work but I guess you never know.

Any thoughts??

If you have a dvd drive and a burning rom, u can use vcd galaxy, and save yourself some money, <br />Don't trust them!!!!!! <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

This was probably refering to converting DVDs into Divx Format, which is lower quality but will fit on a standard CDR. And the software is freely available so someone is trying to con you.
