is this what your looking for, taken from another forum
Summary: Updating Navcore and Maps on TomTom One 3rd Edition (1 GB)

Preparation:
1. Back up the full contents of your GPS device to your hard drive. Make sure you have visibility to any hidden files and that these files are also backed up properly.
2. Get a copy of the patched Navcore 8.410 and extract to its own separate folder on your hard drive.

3. Get a copy of the map set you want to load. Make sure it's compatible with both the Navcore you chose and the space available on your device. Extract it to its own separate folder on your hard drive.

** Note: Since this device has a 1GB limit, you need to choose a map set that is small enough to fit. Many of the map sets posted here are for larger devices... I chose THIS ONE...

You'll need to know how to download and extract these 4 rar files.
EDIT: 830.2323 works fine also... you can find this in the "830 Maps" link above..
4. Get a copy of the most recent all-in-one k3yg3n and extract it to its own separate folder on your hard drive.

EDIT: Newest keygen is here: http://www.gpsunderground.com/forums...ead.php?t=8293
EDIT.. After all your files are downloaded and extracted, you should have a directory on your hard drive that looks similar to this..
[Note: I have 2 maps sets in this folder.. you only need one].. See attachment #1.
5. Create the file "meta.txt", required by the k3yg3n utility.
Copy the lines below. [Note: the meta data is different for each map set, be sure to use the appropriate meta data for your chosen maps]
Open Notepad
Paste the lines
Save the file as "meta.txt" in the same directory as the Keygen application.

EDIT: This step is not necessary, IF you have a current meta.txt file (can be downloaded from various places on this site) that contains the necessary meta data for your selected maps.. Just use the downloaded file. My method insures that you have the correct meta, but, for most cases it's overkill.

Installation:
1. Make sure your GPS device is connected to your PC and that TT Home is not running.
2. Use Explorer (or your favorite utility) to navigate to your GPS device, go to the root folder on the device and delete everything, including hidden files. [Remember, you should have backed this data up as part of the "Step#1 in Preparation" (above)]
3. From your local hard drive folder where you stored the new Navcore... open the folder and select all the files inside the folder. Copy the contents of this folder to your GPS device. [Do not copy the folder itself, just copy the contents to the root folder on the GPS].. see attachment #2..
4. From your local hard drive folder where you stored the new Mapset... Select the mapset FOLDER and drag it over to the root directory on the GPS device. [This is different from uploading the Navcore... For the Navcore, you copy the FILES from your hard drive to the GPS, but for the Mapset you copy the folder (one item) and place it (and the contents of course) as a subdirectory on the GPS device... See attachment #3
5a. At this point, I tried to run the K3ygen application and received 2 errors before I got things worked out..
...... First time I ran k3yg3n, I received the error message "GPS Device is not connected to USB" (or something like that)... I had to disconnect the device and reconnect. When I disconnected, the device booted and gave me the error message "This map is not compatible with this device" (or something like that)... I just ignored this message and plugged in the device on the USB..
...... Second time I ran k3yg3n, I received the error message "meta.txt not found, goodbye".. I forgot to put the meta.txt file into the keygen directory... Just create a simple text file in Notepad... Copy and paste the meta information for the mapset you selected into the document and save it as "meta.txt".. This file should be located in the same directory as the keygen executable file.. [see attachment #4]
5b. After working out any errors, run the Keygen and select only the option to generate v8 map keys... [see attachment #5] After completing this step, be sure to exit from the keygen utility BEFORE disconnecting the device from USB.. The exit keygen routine does file cleanup.
6a. Upon disconnecting the device and rebooting, it comes up with an error message about "no voices are installed".. This is GOOD news.. The device is working.!
6b. Plug the GPS back onto the USB and, using TT Home, select the option to "Operate My Device"... Allow TT Home to install the necessary file(s)..
6c. After installing the TT Home files, TT Home will display an error message about maps not being compatible..
7. Run Keygen again and select "Patch TT Home". [Note: I had to put another copy of meta.txt into the keygen directory... Seems that the keygen cleans out the meta.txt file upon closing the keygen]...
8. Reinstall voices, reconfigure settings, etc... You're finished.. !!

Disclaimer: This is what worked for me... YMMV.
Be sure to back your original stuff up properly before you get started.. !!
