Retail Boxed Dual Format +/- DVD Rewriter
Liteon have created themselves a great reputation in the CD writing market through producing low cost drives that have performance and reliability to shame their more expensive competitors.
It has taken a little while for them to launch their first 4x DVD +/- RW drive, but the LITEON LDW-411S is now available, and in true Liteon style, it is one of the lowest priced drives on the market.
So what do you get for your money?
This DVD dual format rewriter is able to write DVD+R / DVD-R media at 4X, rewrite DVD+RW media at 4X, rewrite DVD-RW media at 2X, and read DVD-ROM media at up to 12X. It only takes around 15 minutes to backup 4.7 GB data. It is not only a fast DVD rewriter but also a powerful CD-RW rewriter. It can write CD-R media at up to 40X, rewrite CD-RW media at up to 24X, and read CD-ROM media at up to 40X. As with all their writers, Liteon have included SMART-BURN technology to provide "Buffer UnderRun Free" ability (Similar to Burnproof technology on other drives) and great media compatibility for high-speed writing DVD+R / DVD-R / DVD+RW / DVD-RW / CD-R / CD-RW media. SMART-X technology provides smooth & stable Audio CD / VCD / DVD playback and high-performance DAE / VCD / DVD data extraction.
The drive comes in a retail box containing all you need to get started: The drive itself, My Sonic Media Suite, Power DVD, two blank media, installation screws and audio cable.
We have tried a few different types of media in the drive and recommend using Ritek media for best results.
