alternative to 8gig cards,cheaper maybe

i was doing it wrong,because it was only showing 3.7gb i thought it wasnt working
but it dosent matter ,just format card and thats it ,now showing 7.4 gb

I cant get mine to find the chips, I've whacked them in with the double thing and it doesnt pick them up. I've also tried with a usb card reader and neither of them works, I get an I/O error...
