I'm currently studying for my 2396 written exam in December this year. The accompanying project being a small library installation of internal & external power, light & a few other items of electrical equipment, including a TP-N 16a supply for a lift.
I was hoping to post some questions from previous papers i have managed to obtain, as some practice for anyone doing the exam.
Please answer in the manner that is expected from city & guilds.
these four questions are related to SELV & PELV circuits.
a) list 4 sources of supply for SELV or PELV.
b) Describe, how 230v electrically separated supplies are derived.
c) Explain how electrical separation provides fault protection when used for a single item of current using equipment.
d) Describe the additional risks that are created if more than one item of current carrying equipment is connected to the same electrically separated supply.
