mmm its a m8s comp m8 now says cant find ip addy

try local area connections/general tab then proprties and the general tab/ internet protocol (tcp/ip) properties and set obtain ip automatic and obtain DNS server automatic. then reboot.

also try this to see whats what with ya modem:Fish:

If its a wireless connection , make sure he is trying to connect to his home connection and not one next door e.t.c

Changing my NIC MAC usually sorts this problem.

Be aware that a limited opr no conectivity on a wireless connection is usually a red herring, defo on XP, as the likes of netgear etc advise you to turn of this message reporting capability. That in mind what is the connection running at? If 100/1000 and is running at thyat speed then there is no problem. Turn message status off and see what you are getting.
