Can a standard wifi usb adapter 802.11 b/g/n be flashed with the skybox software that comes already installed on their usb adapters?

Yes Plug and play or pair it in the network settings.

I'm guessing there is nothing special about their USB adaptors except slybox has the right drivers for the chip used in the adaptor.
