That's not going to improve unless we can get shot of this government of dodgy asset-strippers and posh boys who neither know nor care about normal people.

been trying for years to get rid but waste of time
they rule us no matter if you like it or not will never change

not really but
can you seriously see it changing not happened so far
hope you can prove me wrong but wont hold my breath

Unfortunately the majority did vote them in in the last GE.

I think you need to brush up on your maths (as well as your spelling of Labour).

36.9% of the people that voted, voted Conservative. 63.9% of those who voted, voted for other parties.

Therefore, as Countryboy said(correctly), the majority of the electorate didn't vote for them.

With a proportional representation system, the Tories would be the largest party, but would not have a majority.

Whatever mate, under the system we have they got the majority. Under PR they would have the majority D'oh. CBA nit picking with you, I know you like to have the last word and to make your presence felt on the board so ill bow out for now.......

Eon, it's not nit picking, it's fact !
Under PR the Tories would of had the largest number of MPs but they would not of had a majority, the other parties would of been the majority. Plus had we been voting under PR a lot of people would have voted differently because many voted for one the "mainstream" parties because they believed that a vote for who they really wanted to vote for would be a wasted vote as they believed the smaller parties could not win.
The Tories want to privatise everything, because they know they can accumulate funds in the short term and because they then no longer have to take the blame for how the services are run........................look at the DWP use of Capita, ATOS and G4, disastrous !!
You will keep hearing that services like the NHS, the Police and the few remaining Government owned and run services are not cost effective and are a drain on spending....................If that were true do you honestly think any Private Company would want to buy and/or run them ???
Of course not ! When managed and run properly they can be superb value, take the Railways and the Utilities Companies, sold off for peanuts and now all making huge profits for Private Companies ( Many of them foreign ! ) and truthfully many of those Private Companies are not running things particularly well but still raking it in.
If those services were still Nationalised and being run reasonably well, they would have been more than self funding, in fact would have been providing profits for the government coffers. The truth of the matter was that none of the main parties were prepared to invest in them in the past, they only wanted to take from them and it is that which has seen them become ineffective and in the case of Coal and Steel production killed off completely.

Too much belief in scaremongering. The NHS has always had links to, and elements of, private operation. The key elements should be quality and free at point of delivery. If those criteria are met the how is irrelevant.

As for PR, it was rejected (its AV form) years ago. Had it been in place in GE2015 you would be under another coalition which, typically, do nothing. You would have around 50 fewer SNP MPs and 50 more UKip MPs.

PR won't fix the problem, what's needed is an effective opposition rather than a bunch of ex-hippy fruit-loops.

Agreed about situation as the votes were cast, but I'm sure that many would have voted differently under PR.
As for needing an effective opposition, I think it's more about needing decent politicians who want to represent their electorate rather than the career politicians that we have now, because the only thing they are interested in is their selves.
