Blind scan

Hi Timelord,

Blind search now working here, since when?? o/s 123 with 123p. good fix. tl

Sorry mate but I disagree... it's NOT fixed... it's still not working properly... it still misses/does not find numerous TP's on various satellite positions... even some with very high Signal Quality readings (when frequency is added manually) ...and it is still assigning 45000 symbol rates to some TP's which should actually have very low symbol rates... and the Signal Quality bar is still only showing readings of between 5%-11% on all transponders that do not have a signal lock... this is useless...

Actually I can't see any difference whatsoever in the Blind Search scanner with the new patch... oh sorry I tell a lie... they have stretched the Blind Search menu boxes (horizontally) to fill up the screen... and that seems to be the only change... a cosmetic one...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Latest upgrades for the TM5402HD have not solved the previous issues with the blind scan the software is corrupted due to unskilled personnel messing with the software without full knowledge of what they are doing it is like vandalism of their own products,

At this point in time the latest software released to make this & the other TM HD receivers work as they were intended to work is an absolute disgrace & just goes to show the lack of customer care that depths that TM have sunk to,

The dedicated team here on DW feedback is wasted on TM as they do not know how to sort these issues out anymore & are not prepared to hire anyone that knows about satellite receiver basic software as a functional blind scan is not rocket science many unskilled hands have corrupted the TM software so that is no longer works as originally inteded,

This note at the beginning of the TM Standard receivers:

The technomate is one if the best receivers on the market for quick and easy satellite setups and cheap aswell.... please use this section to talk about all satellite topics to do with technomate.

needs to be removed as it is no longer a valid statement.

Hi again Merliin,

According to the Official Technomate website... the Blind Search scanner in the TM 5402 HD is actually part of the hardware...

For searching, there’s a hardware blind search tuner which is much more accurate than software blind search. The satellite tuner is super sensitive to pick up weak signals and weak transponders.

Very fast & detailed hardware Blind Search (power scan)

In which case... I cannot see how they can do anything to improve the (hardware) Blind Search scanner no matter how many software updates/upgrades they release... so unfortunately it looks like the current limited capabilities of the TM 5402 HD Blind Search scanner are as good as they're ever going to be...

I would love to be proved wrong about this... but I'm not holding my breath...

Sorry peeps, i admit i got over excited, that the blind search did not stop @ 22%!!!, and motor does not stop between sats, HOORAY.
we are getting there,(slowly). What is 124p doing ? tl

Should not be impossible (if TM wanted to that is) to replace the tuner and use another with a small PCB between the tuner and motherboard to allow software control. Corrections of this sort are not uncommon in electronics manufacturing and fairly simple to do it all depends on just how seriously the manufacture takes his/their responsibility for their products.

im about to purchase a tm5402hd in the next month or two as my main faffing box to use on my 1.25 gibby for feedhunting and the like and your saying the blind scan is piss poor? regards mdt

Thanks for that Zorch,

It is a shame that they did not test this receiver fully before they released it so this anomaly could have been corrected,:FRIGHT:

I will now begin my quest for a better functioning blind scan receiver hopefully including H.264 video format ACM, VCM, Multi Input Stream, 16APSK and 32APSK mode + Faster more accurate Blind Scans with increased memory to support the latest Codex now in use by SNG's as the current HD receivers are now falling behind what is now possible with a TBS-6925 tuner that can handle 32APSK, 16APSK, CCM, VCM, ACM modulated feeds+ a very fast accurate blind scan,

I hope the satellite receiver manufacturers will soon move onto a higher quality built receiver that they used to make combined with the latest technology available today this will be a lot more useful than the current batch of cheap receivers that are supposed to do what it says on the box but do not even after 20 software upgrades.
