Finally got sometime to have a go at this tonight (and the weather !!!)

Must admit I have been reading through the guides on here and other sites for weeks but still not sure exactly what i'm doing !!!

I have set the latitude on the motor for my location according to dishpointer, how do I know what the elevation on the dish should be ??

I have everything attached and have been moving the motor from east to west manually using the box, the only sat I appear to be getting a lock on is 19.2e

I need to do some more research but just going to sit down and have something to eat, if someone could point me in the right direction with a good starting point it would be helpful :)

Managed to find 13e, 16e and 19.2e and store them manually but not getting anything east or west of them

You need to line your dish up on Thor 0.8W if you can receive it and then get best possible signals on this satellite. This will then be top of your satellite arc. Also make sure your sat pole is dead straight..this is the most important thing.Set your long/lat on motor and tighten then just move the dish up or down for desired signals...Hope this helps a little bit matey...

Set 2600 latitude to your location, connect dish ,usually offset dish , in Britain it is leaning slightly back from upright. Turn this assemble by hand so the LNB is pointing south. It should be in Britain when the sun is at around 11 0clock. With a meter find 0.8 w Thor moving the motor assemble slowing East and west, by hand. If nothing adjust dish Elevation slightly upwards, and move motor assemble slightly again East or west until you have a signal. When you have the best signal with the Motor assemble carefull tighten the bolts. Adjust elevation on the dish to the best signal and tighten. Adjust LNB by moving it to the strongest signal. Send the dish to 28.2 Astra where most of the dishes around are with the motor, you should have a strong signal. If the pole the motor is on straight at 90 degrees, and Latitude is set correct, then the arc should be correct. My 22.5 degree offset dish is 98.8 degrees when on 0.8 Thor Sat . Angle measure on the LNB arm at the back of the dish.

In my infinite wisdom I managed to snap the u shaped bolts while tightening everything up too much, my own fault for trying to use the old mount that was already up from years ago (which I'm pretty sure was the cause of my problems anyway!!!)

Think I'm just about ready to throw the towel in on this buy a new mount/pole and get someone who knows what they are doing to get everything setup properly.

Anyone in the Liverpool area who fancies earning a few quid just let me know what you charge :)

Well another disapointing afternoon and snapped coach bolt later I think it is defo time for me to give up on this !!!

The dish is back up again but now not getting anything at all when moving east and west.

Going to post in the sat installer thread but again if anyone in the Liverpool area wants to make a few quid let me know.....
