white card???

Will this card update in my TM600? Finally got it working after hours of reading and messing about but all worth it now.

it will update, but it depends on what cam/cardserver software youre running, and how its configured

in your newcs.xml file located in var/tuxbox/config, youll notice 3 blockers under each card reader <device> to update the card, change the bottom one from Yes to No

but...............

the providor may still have some tricks to roll out, so for the moment, most people have the blocker turned on, and utilise an official box every 6-8 weeks, in entitlements youll see the date your card is set to expire, insert a few days before this date overnight

In cccam I think you need to add your sl<ybox box key to cccam.cfg.

Have to agree with you there V14, some people just want to take, take, take and can't even be bothered to introduce themselves. I guess they must be too busy to spend a few minutes saying hello. Really winds me up.

part of the sub contract you agree to is that you wont use their card in any 'unauthorised' equipment, this is so that if you dont pay your bill, they can cut you straight off, instead of a blocker stopping the card update and you carry on viewing untill the card expires from the last update it received, normally about 10 weeks worth

Going back to the original query, I gave my white card to my mate to put in his DM500 server and share back to my TM600 (I already had a JSC card as my local !!) It had the full sub but then I phoned S*y to add in ESPN and wondered if this would work with the card in another box. Boxkey script was in CCcam.cfg (2.1.3) and low and behold it worked within 2 mins of me calling into S*y. I'm guessing from that little excercise that updates will work just fine ?!?

Next month will confirm as next update will be due but as both the card (and it's owners) think that it is living in the original box, I am pretty sure all will be fine. :Clap:

card in my TM is a multi room card so even if it doesn't update I still have another, will let you know.

if its a multiroom card, then you MUST put it into an official receiver so it can send a signal via the phone back to sly, or they will charge you the full amount for the viewing as they wont be able to verify that its in the same property as the other card

DD does both cards need to be in box and connected to phone line. Or can one be in dreambox and other in sly box with phone line
