Hard disks that work in the tm600?

i think the problem is with IDE drivers for the usb adaptor m8, as ive tried 3 different adaptors, with about 15 different drives, and all have failed

i have a usb-sata one that works fine though

i got one of these adapters

[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/SATA-Adaptor-Cable-Power-Adapter/dp/B000Q5YW76]USB 2.0 to IDE SATA Adaptor Cable + Power Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo[/ame]

and it's worked with about 8 ide drives i've tried, they have all been under 120GB not sure if size might affect it.

this one has 2 ide connectors m8, one side for 3.5" drives, the other for 2.5" drives and the sata connection in the middle

ive ordered a few now, so will give them a good testing when they arrive, using laptop and full size drives, both ide and sata

Hey. That is what I have, IDE on 1 side SATA on the other and the exact same make. The IDE side does bugger all, so I suppose I need a SATA drive to test

the one i posted is working fine for me on 3.5" IDE, recording to a drive with it right now.

think those are cheaper as they dont come with the power adapters

"External AC power (not included) input 90v-264v needs to be used to supply power to SATA/IDE device"

if your going to use them for internal usb converters for TM's should be fine.

Are you guys talking about barebone hard disks or those that come in a box, such as a Seagate Freeagent (3,5"), Seagate Freeagent Go (2,5"), Western Digital MyBook (3,5"), or Western Digital Passport (2,5"). I have been planning to buy one of those, so does it mean that I should hold back that purchase?

I was using a Seagate Freeagent Go on a TM 6900 HD Super Combo and it worked flawlessly so I simply assumed it would be the same for my TM600.

Do these work properly with an ide drive ?

Mine arrived today m8, so ill let you know

Does the tm600 have an internal connector for supplying power to a 3.5" ide drive ?

yes, it has a standard MOLEX connector, so if using a SATA drive, a MOLEX-SATA power adaptor may be needed as not all SATA drives have this connection

this works fine with the TM600, now running a 160G IDE drive off one, as well as the 300G internal sata drive

for just over £2 delivered, i think ill get a few more of them now i knoe theyre ok

the attached picture shows an IDE drive from a sky+ receiver and the bottom a sata drive from a sky+HD receiver, both drives caused the original receivers to be stuck in standby, but work fine in a linux receiver

I bought a 16GB Kingston Datatraveler. a while ago to use in my TM600 but it doesn't reconise it, was wondering if you've got any cheap "about £20" 16GB flash drives about that u've tried in the TM600 and worked, don't want to buy another and find out it doesnt work.

the "UR_Team" member who was on here a while ago did post saying it was a known issue and might get fixed but i cant handle waiting much longer :p

Nice one ,Digidude.
I have one on the way.
I was going to get a DM600 but this sways the TM600 for me as I have a good few old IDE drives around doing nothing.
The DM600 only takes a 2.5" ide and they are bloody expensive and limited in size.
