right heres the story,
went to fill up today,
the pump i went to was out of roder but they didnt have any sort of cones, tape or out of order signs on it.
hooked it p and counter got reset.
filled up £5.
Then went and paid and didnt even ask for receipt.
Then went in car and needle hadnt moved.
thought it will move slowly like they sometimes do.

turns out there wasnt any fuel in the car and i had to fuel up again.
went to petrol pump again and saw it was out of order(the pump i used).

went to counter and heard that it has been not working all day.
i dont have a receipt but im sure they can look at their cctv and give me a refund.

The petrol station in question is BP.

what are my chances of a refund?
got to go back tomorow to see the manager.

most of them all have auto plate recoginition much like the peelers do for your insurance and tax, about time it was used in your defence !! :)

More to the point they have to active the pump, and charge you based on the pump number to know the amount so they 100% have a record of it.

I had same thing last night mate, put £7 in at Hemel on A414 ..... mileage left fuel gauge did not move, nor did needle.... thought myself that it would move once I drove a little,... fk did it ! Since I live 50 miles away not going back, just wont use them ever again the conning fuckers !

The question to be asking is why was the pump activated when they know its not working?? this ones a open and shut case.. it sounds like the person is new or doesnt know what hes doing.. the manager will give your monies back :)

Fck joke, they rob you by charging too much now they rob you for given you nothn !!!! Hope you get it back, and you might as well ask for a full tank for compensation :)

I always though they used a rotometer, to measure the flow.
that way it will only clock up what goes through it, otherwise it would not clock up.

i dont understand surely you could tell no fuel was coming out the pump !

was in a rush,
didnt even ask for receipt as i normally always ask for receipt

i've not driven a car for years but when you go to a station to fill up, dont the attendant have to press a button to start the pump for you, so if that pump was out of order why did he press it.

just went to see the manager,
he wasnt there but had a word with the till worker there

showed me the log book and said the same pump has not been working since tuesday.
but i saw that on thursday 16th someone added some details of a specific pump not working.
When i asked the worker what about that writing he quickly became cagey and said he must have made a mistake and crossed it out and put the same writing on the 14th april date instead.

have to go back monday to see the manager.
just hope they keep their cctv for a long time.

If the meter moves then theres fuel coming out its as simple as that .. u have had the fuel m8 .works the same way as a water meter ,,, 5 quid ? no wonder it hasnt registered ..... its only 5 liters ? if you where on your reserve (and empty ) 5 liters wouldn't even turn your yellow light off

trust me,
it makes a heck of alot of difference.
when i normally fuel up the needle goes up quite a long way with £5

£20 for me is half a tank :(..

Just thinking.. surely the litre display should of be adding up.. if you only put £5 surely you would of been watching the display?? unlike when someone who just fills to the brim..

the counter was working,

i would have admitted that it might have gone through but the geezers are saying the pump has been out of order since tuesday and they have had the out of order signs on it since tuesday whch is clearly not the case cos i wouldnt have gone to a pump which says out of order

If you believe NO fuel came out, to which I doubt due to they way they work.
Contact Trading Standards and they will test it for you. :)

its been 3 days,
must have been fixed by now surely.
only way now is to lok at the cctv cameras which will contradict their events of the out of order signs being on the pump since tuesday
