MS conducting fresh bans on modified Xbox 360 units from Live

Its still not really that clear, if get banned for just logging on

Dont play online xbox games, got my pc for that, but i do like playing on some good solo games, and like to go online to get updates, especially that divx support when it comes out (fingers crossed)

I just flashed 2 sammy drives and 1 hitachi over last 4 weeks and all are ok as i write this,Although 1 sammy has three red rings its not relatedbut all have been playing live (pes 2008 mainly)

Up until 3 days ago I've been using iXtreme 1.0, I switched to 1.3 on sunday.

Not banned.

oh well im still ok up 2 yet but my heart goes out 2 those who have been hit especially those who were hit last time as well

It might be me but is there something in the assassins creed update causing the banning, my console sounded like it was going to explode when I started to play assassins creed, fans where going ape!!

I was banned in the first mass hit so I know what it feels like, sorry for all you guys out there, I was going to buy a new console for xmas, may wait it out.

Might be, did you have to update before yo started playing?

I deleted the image damm, might just rip it back to PC then re-burn that usually works, at a slower speed, can't see why did it 4x like I always do on verbs, strange, Ill play something else as I don't want my console to blow up, seriously it sounds bad.

surely if uve burnt a bad disc then rip it bk to pc the image will b the image of the bad disc so it wont b right ?

*UPDATE*
It appears that modified fw is NOT being detected, and is instead once again due to 'bad' discs. Keep in mind that the only full proof way to make a 1:1 backup is to do it yourself. iXtreme is as fullproof as it can be, in that it validates everything it possibly can from a firmware point of view, but a game can have slight data change somewhere, most commonly in DMI. Or it can be due to early copies being watermarked so to speak.

This is why you run the risk of being banned on xbox live if you pirate games. Always remember that you run a risk doing such actions.

In regards to game data being properly validated, xdvdmulleter is a tool that has a constantly maintained database to validate backups against retail copies to ensure full stealth
