Hi All,
My TalkTalk router seems to be running on an 2006 firmware level - and potentially one that is specific to TalkTalk.
I was hunting around, and it seems that the manufacturers Huawei (pronounced who-are-wee!!) don’t issue firmware to consumers - only the resellers like TalkTalk.
The router is a Huawei EchoLife HG520s, and I read it has the same internals as the Linksys WAG54GX2.
So.... I downloaded the latest firmware updater from Linksys, and went through the steps to update the firmware. The Linksys updater recognises my HG520s as its WAG54GX2 and shows the current firmware level (v1.0.0.0).
I havent quite brought myself to click the button to do it yet... but just wondering if anyone out there has done an update of their own??
BTW - the reason I was looking to update the firmware is because of VPN issues over NAT. It might be it doesn’t fix the problem, but TalkTalk don’t really want to know.
Its risky I know... Has anyone tried it ?
