i am using sqlite dataabase to get EPG on my dm500 but when i try to map a new channel like sky disney its not on the list how do i get it to be on the list.

if you what a good epg put commando 14.7 on have a good read of all the readme files plus you will get loads of help here to set it up if you get stuck

Yeah i'll go with tony on this one. Commando 14.7 stick it on and you can forget all about mapping channels or having to download the epg every 2 or 3 days.

If you must use sqlite then you need to do a new service scan of all the channels.

i dont want to use the Commando image as it changes the interface witch my mum would not like. also how do i scan for service on channels?

can anyone help me out please

if you only require 1 days uk epg for your openpli dm500 box, you can use the epg data from the 28.2e stream.



in settings, you first need to change the epg data store to SQLite database and change SQLite EPG location to /tmp

and then set number of days to 1



use "weekepglog" tool from the "WeekEPG" plugin to download 1 days epg for your required channels directly from the "EPG Background Audio." channel and save as MV format to file in /tmp.

use "db_epg" tool from "SQLite EPG import plugin(1.3)" to convert/write the downloaded MV format stream file into the epg.db database file in /tmp using the "epgdat" type.



this method will get and load your 28.2e epg directly from the satellite steam into you openpli dm500 epg without any online downloads.

just make a little script to automate the whole process

here is the channels.uk required by weekepglog and the dbepg_map.uk file that i used with db_epg for you to play with.

If my dear wifey is anything to go by, your Mum will just lurve the GUI in C14.7 and will quickly get very comfortable with it indeed. To the extent that OpenPLi has been banished from our lounge DM500S box for the past 16 months, by her orders!

And you will find it a hell of a lot easier to keep it bang up to date on a daily basis, too. Think about it...

You can automate the scans/bouquet making too. All that your mother will have to do is watch the telly.

and the regular online updates take pretty good care of the Infobar Picons, as well. Dross removed, new and/or renamed ones added.

Ask yourself how long it takes YOU to update a PLi picon if the service and transponder IDs change? PLi picon filename:for ITV:

sorry, i only have a dm500s UK28.2E openpli maxvar based alpha test image at present for in house testing that has working autobouquets e1 and 28.2e stream epg. you will have to be patient for a week or two until this image is ready for any public beta testing.

have you finish working on the image yet?

sorry, no! other projects current have priority and need finishing. the dm500s openpli maxvar image i started building the epg into hasn't seen any development time since 28th May 2013.

as it may be some time before i start back on this little project, you may as well have the alpha testing backup image from 28th May 2013 to play with OpenPLi-alpha-dm500-maxvar-20130528-306M-UK-282E-UKCVS-GYPSY-backup

What is lacking in the image he uploaded?

how do i get it to look like this. also when u press ok it dont show the epg next to the channels

the gypsy backup image will work just fine if you follow these basic steps:

press green button > download bouquets > select region
press green button > download tv guide
(there are also shortcut keys for these functions in blue button)

once these two steps are done, you will have latest 28.2e bouquets for you region and 1days epg.

press ok button twice, then press info button and then select multi epg menu item

you will now see the epg screen you want, here is tomorrows epg to show you it is working for next 24hr!
you will need to wait 30mins or so for the now/next epg to catch up and start populating from the stream when you only press the ok button.

Do i have to use auto bouquets or can i use my own?

They are two separate processes as far as I am aware. Try without. if it doesn't work, report back.
