why do some dvix work and some dont ?

l have lots of divx but when watchin through the xbox some have no picture ? and freeze the box out ? anyone one

and ones that r converted to mpeg have to buffer first //

am l missing something here lol

I've only ever had 1 or 2 completely refuse to play, I usually find that if I get the wee red circle on a Divx all I need to do is reset my PC and the 360 will play the film.

I suppose the ones that don't play are possibly bad encodes or something like that.

I've also never had the 360 lockup playing a movie.

cheesed me off that , just downloaded death at a funeral in dvix and xbox didnt want to know . tried on a usb to . just put it in my cheap dvix player and worked straight away on the same usb stick

where did you get the film mate, I'll download it and try it on my 360.

Downloading it just now mate, Virgin have capped me so it'll take a bit longer than usual, should have it in about 10 minutes though.

UPDATE...

It's working fine mate.

I stream everything over my network.

l have the sound but no picture ? and cant bring up the menu to stop it have to turn off at button . tried on both xbox's wired and wireless ? l have just decoded to again aswell . . will have a play again tomorrow ..cheers for lookin m8 ..

Ive had same problem recently with all my Divxs streaming. Kept wanting to buffer all the time and froze up my box. Changed network card in my pc(host) and all working fine again!
