Im sure the replacment caps will sort it, it is a common problem.

But if you do need a cheap but very capable replacment the Octagon SF8008 4k Twin is imo the best value box out there.

If you were local to me yes I would have mate. But the job isn't worth the cost and hassle of posting 2 ways especially at this time of year and given the Postal strikes and backlog.

yes i have seen some good 4k receivers
but i cant be bothered setting up my motorised dish again
and channels

Although it does not apply to you yet, changing receiver does not need you to fiddle with motorised dish. Your channels and bouquets can be migrated to a different receiver too. If you have manually stored positions and not used USALS, those can be transferred too.

The Duo 2 will serve you for a few more years, once repaired.

it had the 2 caps fitted and checked over
all installed and fully working
Duo2 is like a new receiver now

is it possible to update the Blackhole software image
last time i did it
it wiped everything

just wanted to see if i can update it
as it took a little while to boot up

its not been updated for a long time now

Run a settings only backup to usb or hdd flash the new Blackhole image and it will detect the settings backup and restore.

If the image you have now though is very old the above probably is doomed to fail. So backup anything you need such as configs by ftp as a precaution.
