I have a TP-Link WR842ND router which has a USB drive to which I have plugged in a 2TB HDD and set up file sharing in the admin menu (192.168.0.1) and also FTP, it has given me 192.168.100.103 as the access IP address.
I can access the HDD via my PC's no problem from the 'Libraries' page under 'Computer' on Windows 7, however I would like to play the movies on the HDD from my M3, the M3 is connected to the router via Ethernet cable.
From the M3's menu I went to USB >> file transfer up/down >> create new (yellow button)
You have to enter the IP address of the server, so I entered 192.168.100.103, when I try to connect it says 'trying to connect to server' then after a few seconds 'connection failed'?
I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I have another router connected LAN to WAN from the primary router which has the IP 192.168.1.1 for which I have a VPN installed.
The M3 is connected to the internet okay for c/s etc.
Any ideas to what I am doing wrong?
