tm 600 clock blinking in stand bye

hi all, anybody have any ideas why my tm 600 clock blinks when in stand bye, but is fine when i turn the box on channel numbers are fine ,bit frightened to turn off at back as there are a few posts on here that say box would not turn on again, cheers,
