Recording with IMPlayer help needed

I want to record UFC tonight. I have a 250gb ext plugged in.
I do I point IMPlayer to record on it ?

I don’t use the record function but I know you need two connections from your supplier. I have had a look and you pick the directory of your drive in Change Directory in the Recording & Reminders settings.
