Bone....I tried a parallel to USB cable for a printer a while ago, had an absolute nightmare...couldn't get it too work
Best bet, is buy a PCI/USB host card, that will let you connect several USB devices at once, including ones that take power from the USB bus and they cost about £15
Have Fun

Bonehead
The cost of a USB- Paralell cable is about £20 manufactured by BELKIN.
Using the above cable will force your printer to run at the slower speed of the paralell connection.

Buying a USB card should give you faster printouts from your printer.

PS download the latest drivers for maximum performance.

Depending on your motherboard you may be able to install a USB adapter on your computer. They only take a matter of seconds to install. To give you an idea what they look like go here http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/usb_adapter.html but you don't need to buy them here, you'll get them cheap at any local small computer store.

Check your motherboard's specification to see if it can take such an adapter. If not the same web site shows you examples of hardware that slot into a spare PCI slot on your motherboard and will give you some USB slots (just as lone gunman suggested before me).

Good luck
