This is by no means a confirmation, Hums have not issued an official statement, but from speaking to a number of contacts (Hums, Freest and distributors) it’s believed that the Hums FOX SAT-DR PVT unit will be available late November, week commencing Th November 2008.

Given our contacts at Hums and Freest, plus our routes in retail (knowing the leading distributors of Hums products) we are fairly confident that this is the date potential buyers should be aiming for.

Of course this is assuming that the schedule does not slip, which is the reason why Hums have not released an official statement yet, but they are hoping to announce early October. Fingers crossed for around that date, as any later and it might be hard for the distribution chain to get these units onto general sale before Christmas.

thats USB on the front, most receivers have a card slot, but its blocked up maybe the camera flash reflected differently off the plastid plug in the slot

the 3 F connectors will be SAT1 input, SAT2 input, SAT1 loopthru

not just a card slot also a cam slot

i believe that while the tracks are there on the current model, the additional components (and software) needed to enable CAM support are not

Rat will buy one on release day, and if we all pester him enough he'll take the lid off and have a look lol

the thing is though, for me its like having an aston martin and nowhere to drive it, it really is a sleek bit of kit but there simply isnt enough choice on freesat, fair enough you've got pretty much the essential channels but unfortunatly there isnt enough just yet to have any real enjoyment with one of these babys

unless of course the humax's can be played with much in the same way people seem to enjoy the technomates and all the sneaky channels they're able to watch??
