I have a 4 foot florescent tube light in my garage and I would like to replace it with an LED light. I assume that I will need to change the fittings holding the old light before I can install the new LED light or is that not the case? I do not tend to work in the garage but mainly use it for tools storage etc. Any suggestions on LED wattage?

I found the connection on LED were both at same end, so disconnect Starter etc, feed live and return to one end, that's it.
Best by qualified electrician though

You can buy LED tube lights with a starter, and you just replace these parts. I bought one at boot fair and it works fine.

Thanks for info, it was just that the LED tubes I bought came with a dummy starter for making contact through that lead. I removed mine and bypassed it.
Regards

Not reinventing the wheel, just copying it! some people enjoy DIY
My reply was intended for the OP but here's one for you.
I love DIY but realised years ago that it's pointless to over complicate when the ready made solution is often quicker and cheaper. At the end of the day it's a garage light not a project. ;)
