Surely must depend on whether they have a camera covering the lane?? I have seen specs camera only covering certain lanes, so it seems obvious that if you change lanes it might be possible to not be detected

Actually its fiction, its an urban myth. The cameras record all lanes and can even tell you that you changed lanes during your 'speed'. Messa
