I started doing a few bets recently as I was getting tips from a reliable source.

At one stage I was was up about 100% but lost it all and then won it all back.

5 minutes ago I got a notification that I one of my bets won so up up about 100% since I started. 5 minutes after I got the notification I get the following message from the book makers.

Madness to think I was down nearly 1000 at one stage and they did not limit my account but now that I'm up they are limiting my account

Do they lay bets, take bets for a living?
Do you think they may stack things in their favour?
Asking for a friend 👍

Oh totally but should it not work both ways. Like should there not be some regulations in place that if someone loses x amount that the book markers can't take any more from them.

You see all these adverts for gambling awareness but it's not doing nothing they should be forcing the book makers that if someone loses x amount that they can't bet for x days or something like that. At the end of the day these bookmarkers will be making a profit either way so it's not that much of an ask.

Book makers are reknowned for this thing. It's like what casino's do in the US, except here it's legal. Book makers are there to make a profit, and if you're winning and consistently winning, then they'll limit your account. It can be any limitation they want as well, so money per bet, odds available, singles only whatever they wish. You can't do anything. Lose as much as you want though, and they'll happily give you free bets, free spins, better odds.

€3.33 is now the max bet I can put on. 😭😂
Actually it's not. The max bet I can put on is limited based on the odds. As far as I can tell the max winnings I can get is around €9 so that means if I bet on a 100/1 then the max bet I can do is 9 cents. They really don't want me to use there site any more. 😆😭😂

Try Betfair Exchange
You bet against other punters?
Thanks I'll check them out.

Betfair is a little different, I beleive you become the bookmaker in those situations, and you basically run your own book. I know of people that do this semi professionally, they also work in bookies ;)

Grimeire Set up numerous accounts Pal with different bookies take all the startup offers where you get free bets and use their money to bet.
I use bet365 and betfair mainly but shop around for best prices. but have more than one account with most bookies , so when they limit one i use the other and dont bet at all with the one theyve limited.soon enough usually 3/4 weeks and they lift the limit
Ps Pm me any tips you get I'd be most grateful lol
Good luck

use this site to find best odds at different bookies and which bookies have which startup offers on

This is an on going issue, I have been banned by skybet, bet365 and betway and removed from all promotions by coral and VC Bet.
In the case of Sky it was a losing account which does not make sense.
really annoying as bookies will accept losing accounts but close anyone that looks like being better than them yes they are a business but it Is immoral to take cash from the potentially vulnerable but close the savvy.

one trick to keep an account longer is to do silly bets, so bet a horse or dog you want but throw in a few multiples bets etc, they will treat multiples as mug bets as they love them.

Betfair, matchbook and smarkets are the way to go but they are not great, yes better than SP, but generally the early markets are not so good, so if wanting to get odds the night before they are not ideal, also win odds are better but as win and place markets are different the place odds generally I find not as good. To get around this I split the stake differently I do 30% win 70% place rather than the traditional 50/50 of an each way bet.
