Hi, I'm new to this forum and also new to this, please can anyone point me to the best type of openbox, what has record facility on as well.

Thanks

You can record on all official openboxes.
(Not to sure about new V9s)

But V8s does.
Memory key must be FAT32 format.
You can only record the channel your watching as they are just basic single tuners.
From memory it records AVI format.

Thanks for the reply,is openbox the best type of box to use for a noob like myself.

Openboxes are easiest box you can setup.
Takes about 5 mins to setup and very cheap around £32.

The likes of zgemma twin tuners you will probably need some support setting it up.
Most issues are covered here and any issues just post were your stuck and help will be at hand.
Zgemma will let you....
pause
rewind
record one channel while watching another (HDD needed)
also never need updates but come with bigger price tag.
(Around £70)

Openboxes will need updated now and again and it's a simple task that takes 1 min.

Thanks for the reply will go with a openbox for now and see how I go

Hi again I forgot to ask if I had a quad lnb on my dish could I run four boxes like multi room thanks

Yes.
You will need 4 single feeds going into each room.

You will also also need to find a supplier that offers multiroom.
Not many I've seen offers 4 boxes on same IP.
Many do 2 on same IP so you may need to buy twice.
