try this guys it converts in less than an hour, all automated and it only re-encodes the sound :) any comments? the prog merely changes the container of the video from .mkv to .mp4, it works for PS3 as well. also, it makes the file a bit smaller than the original as it downsamples the audio from 5.1 to 2 channel stereo. awesome ..

yes m8. or stream it or stick it on a usb stick lol

its a shame the audio encoder doesn't use the full dual core tho :( just 50 percent even tho affinity is set to both, could be twice as fast

*you might need some sort of update, sorry m8

would it not be possiable to rip the audio with virlualdub then rejoin it??? or is the 5.1 the reason it wont work?

the prog has its own set way of doing things which suits me fine, but it would be nice to be able to keep the original audio if u want to, it has to be said

Download has disappeared....do you have name of prog please??

i did a quick test with a simpsons i had and it converted fine x264 to .mp4 and played on 360 via hdd

how big was the file m8? i think ms has banned files on or over 4gig :( getting a few red crosses here, not tried off usb hdd tho only dvd up to now, can't try streaming them either just yet

Just trying it now with a blue ray to see what happens ! I have unticked split @ 4 gig option as im going to stream the files to the 360 and ps3

Can anyone confirm what to tick and what to untick if anything needs doing.??

english download macdrive 7 mate and format ext hdd with it and then 360 will recognise files over 4gig i have a load of hd-wmv movies on 2 ext drives and they are all above 8 gig and work perfect with 5.1 audio

Ok finished converting to mp4 but niether the 360 or the ps3 sees the file when streaming ??? I did untick the split @ 4gig option because im streaming ! would that effect it ? I would not of thought so.

Any help on how to set up the proggie properly that has been tried and tested would help.

that's kind of why i posted it up m8, it's new to me as well lol

try it without splitting the file, if the file is too big at the end try an mp4 splitter like YAMB

it's working fine here i'm not ticking or unticking anything just load the file and convert, like i say the only prob is getting 360 to read files over and including 4.00 gigs (just dvd?). i'll get me a usb to ide convertor and have a bash at wot marra says :)

*@pacman, are u getting a black screen or a red cross when u try to use the file? or just not seeing it?

im having problems.. :(
ive converted 2 films now, while its in process i get temp files in the location ive chosen, but when completed there's nothing in the folder??
whats going on? any ideas anybody? im ubchecking split file as using a macdrive formatted hard drive for playback.

i tried it and that app is great but for what its worth ill just keep getting the wmv-hd's as they have 5.1 audio and found in the usuall places and a few others ;) but now this is about i have no doubt there will be one soon that converts keeping 5.1 now that will be a godsend, cheers.
