we sold our 3 and 2 seater sofa in January on a Saturday, and went into Land of Leather on the Sunday, found a sofa we wanted, and talked with seller.

we were told that each sofa is individually hand made to order from the same leather match so difference in material colour, and all the other bollox they feed you.

we were then told up to 14 weeks for delivery. FFS

so we have been sat on bean bags and 2 pc computer chairs and my xbox rocker chair.

my partner phoned the company 2 weeks ago and they said our sofa is coming in depot on 26th March ands we should get a phone call within 2 days to arrange delivery.

waited 2 days, nothing, phoned them up, and they said we should get a call in next 48 hours.

waited almost a week, and phoned them yesterday, now they say 11th June, like feck i am waiting 6 months in total for a fecking comfy seat.

they said they have had new computers installed, so it might be a mistake, and will verify date on Monday.

i will be calling into Land of Leather on Monday demanding an explanation or my money back.

quite right m8, DFS are w@nkers too. sold me an insurance policy that if leather gets stained theyll clean or repair.mmmmmm...... read the small print, does not cover curry, dye or ink. what else would stain a leather couch ffs. as i said w@nkers.

btw it was the wife that wnted the security of knowing her couch would be good for the next 4 or 5 years. i know these things are a con. anyhoo 12 weeks we were told too. now the end of april start of may. this is the eleventh week. you do the maths.

:grrrr:

ps congrats on 10000 posts m8, you really should get out more lol

go to you local independant m8 we did got a lovely 3 + 2 seater full italian leather back and sides for £695 took about 3 weeks from oder to delivery :):)

gonna see what they have to say tomorrow, and possibly be looking elsewhere.

DFS were good for me, I bought a showroom set of sofa's which was end of line and also got a few hundreed £'s knocked off and was delivered with 2 weeks

6 months later found a slit in one off the arms about 2 inches long and could only have been done with a sharp blade and funny enough no one in the house knew how it got there.

anyway got £500 back of the home insurance and went back to DFS to see if I could match a replacement with something simlar so the sales manager asked why I just wanted the 1 item and not the whole set so I explanied to him what happened. He goes on to say that he'll send his guys around to see what they could do as they may be able to repair it for £100 odd pound or so.

The DFS guy turned up the following week and took a look and said that it couldn't patch it up so he'll put it down to the leather being stressed and ordered a whole new arm for the chair and was replaced free of charge within 4 weeks.

So in a few years when it needs replacing I'll be going back to DFS

i have paid £200 deposit. the reamianing £900 + £69 delivery is to be paid day before delivery.

which is why they are supposed to phone me to arrange delivery and collect rest of money.

Im sure land of leather were on watchdog over the same issue you have now mate with them. They gave the customers that were waiting ages for there sofa's good discounts :)
might be worth a call to watchdog :p

good call m8, i will look on their site now, if they have one.

but before i get in touch with them, i will see what LOL have to say tomorrow

Had similar problems with reid furniture - got my money back and told them to stick it!

they never phoned me, i knew they wouldn't.

so i went in store at 2pm, and asked them what they were doing about it.

daft cow behind counter said, 'so they said June 11th, well, that's only a few days away'

derrr, stupid cow, more like more like few months

she sent them an email whilst i was there, well could have been an email to father christmas for all i knew.

she said she would phone me when they reply to email.

let's see what happens in next 48 hours.

My sister has had the same kind of problem but with DHS. She bought from them about 16 weeks ago. When it came last week they could not get it in the house.

So the delivery men phoned them and told them the problem which was kind of sorted. Only because my sister said she would have a 2 setter insteed.

Now the store are saying they donot owe her any money off because the goods are no longer in the sale lol.
Every time she phones to speak to the manger guess what hes not in or in a meeting grrrrrrr.

I have now told her to ring consumer rigths to see what they have to say.

But back to the orginal post land of leather i bought mine from them had within a week so i was lucy i guess.

I've got a possible solution. How long has it been since the order was placed?

If they have gone past the deadline, I would demand that they give you a loan sofa and chair until your furniture arrives, because you have been messed around. If they refuse then I would say that you want a refund of your deposit and you will go elsewhere - This usually does the trick.

Hope you get it sorted

LOL are Bl00dy full of 5hit!

Order two sofa suites from their Leeds branch early December and still waiting for the f00kers.

I decided to arrange for collection from their Leeds Warehouse but I suffered nothing but dismay at the way my order and how I was personally treated.

Staff at their Leeds Warehouse are a bl00dy joke - 1stly you can never get through to them - the phone rings and rings but no one will answer it.

I wrote a letter to complain to their head office (area manager) on the 19th March and until today no reply at all.

The fookers have my £400 deposit and alomst 5 months have elapsed and I still dont have the goods. I tried to cancel my order a few times and demanded my deposit back but the store manager declined.

I wish I paid by credit card - would have done a charge back through the card provider!

I'm gona write another letter (address is to their MD) and seek legal advice.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FRO LOL!!!

that i can vouch for, cos myself and partner rang umpteen times, and can't get through, which is why i went to store.

and Purity will tell you, cos when he comes to mine, he has to sit on floor or bean bag LOL

it was 26th Jan when we ordered, so we are on week 11 now.

i know they originally said 12-14 weeks, but when we were told that we would get it a few days after 26th March, that's what we were expecting.

not ferkin 11th June now

I bought a sofa from them just over 2 months ago got it no problem but had it in the box as doing up the house I have taken it out and there is a hole on one of the pieces of leather I'll keep this updated but up to now they have been great, fingers crossed for more of the same for me

oh mate, excactly the same happened to me with my brand new white corner leather suite. I bought it from world of leather and an extra £200 for insurance on it for spillages/stains etc....and feck me, try to claim, told the same thing...it wasn't covered for saw dust....i had sharps bedroom people in fitting a new bedroom suite, i removed everything out of bedroom into frontroom, they cut the thing up in my bedroom well blew into frontroom onto new suite, i had only had it about a month, u know what they said ? 'u knew u had had work being done u should of covered it up'...fecking cheek. but, wait for it...i was covered for gloss paint / tar and loads of other stuff but not saw dust, work that one out..anyway, i made sharps pay for it in the end, but i think these insurance policies arn't woth the paper their written on...i just don't bother with them at all now.

Al, don't fcuk around with there demands and promises, just take ur receipt down there now and demand a full refund,.....cos u know what will happen on the 11th june......bye another one now from somewhere else

Mate I would go down and demand a refund as anyone who messes you about or any customer like this doesnt deserve the custom.

I cant get my head round why land of leather and companies like dfs so this, they say there is a economic slowdown and retail is suffering. what do they expect when they provide service or lack of service like this?

I've had good experiences with SCS if that helps not sure if everyone else has.

6 months for a sofa...lol. I agree with the above maybe worth the wait if you get a good discount. Sounds like they never even started to build it. Maybe they gave it to someone else.
