My box has died!!!

its a 2000 box... and couple weeks back when i got home from work the box was off.. i thought the main power cable must be out but it was plugged in and still no signal on my digi box..

i changed the power cable around but still not luck... The box just makes a crakerling ticking noise noise wen ever i plug it in and theres NO display on lcd screen ...

so its not the fuse in the power cable... its not the powe cable and its not the plug socket...

any ideas ???

There's a surface mount capacitor directly underneath REG2500, {check this out m8 it might have shorted}--------------------theres another 2 caps to checkout for this type of fault {i have a pic somewere, i will post it when found

look out for what? what do i do with the caps???

you check these caps with a multimeter m8 {the yellow marked 1s will be your fault----------------------------pic curtesy of tangoman

its obvious if there faulty m8 {they need replaceing}
