Also an idea tto use following commandusing telnet. It will overwrite any existing files. Installing by telnet also shows errors.

opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

seems a common issue mate

at least for me

go back to earlier version that worked for you as newer not always best

may be image related

ok thanks will try telenet , No i didnt delete the image first as i thought it would just overwrite it never had to do a flash using dflash so not qite sure what to do with it i normally just flash using the web browser , Fed up as everything i had finally was working as well lol ie ts media ts panel rats updaters and picons ah well back to scratch when i get home .

I have come across this but the way I fixed it was waited till next release and installed that worked fine then, but I have never removed old version as new one updated that anyway, not sure if that correct way just the way I have done it.

I dont mean delete the image,I meant did you uninstall the older version of dflash before trying the new one :)

But the new one is not updating the old one in this case hence why I asked did he uninstall the old one ;)

There is always an outside chance that its blocking the install someway,

Abu suggestion above is probably the best solution but I couldnt manage to type it out using the phone lol

What Image and bootloader are being used
as alimac says could be image related
could be image is old and need updating ?

for me as said before sometimes the newer version dont work

i always remove old then telnet newer in

installs ok but fails to backup image

weird but happens

so to cap they dont all work for me sometimes need to revert back to older version of dflash
