XP Bios

A BIOS (Basic Input Output System) is part of the main board of your pc. It isn't a part of the operating system.

The most common way of accessing your pc's bios is to power on the Comp and press "del" repeatedly when it starts to boot.

What do you need to do, maybe we can help.

The computer will not shut down when the shut down button is clicked in the start menu it just restarts One of the m8s suggested checking the power management in the bios what do you think?

When you turn your computer on keep pressing delete untill it takes you to a blue and white menu.

Use the arrow keys to go to the Power Management section and turn on Power Management/APM using the PG up and PG Down keys

also go into the power management section in the control panel and check that it is set to shutdown when the power button is pressed
