this xbox live will having a chip in affect this ..it is switchable meaning i can turn it on or off and do you have to pay for this and can you plug it into a cable modem ?

You have to turn the chip off (I am looking into the way around this)

You buy Xbox live for around £40 which gets you Xbox live with some demo games(fully playable against people) plus a headset so you can talk to peole.

I'm giving mine a go now, will report back
