What is a CAM?

Top Up TV CAMCAM stands for Conditional Access Module. Some set-top boxes have a CAM slot, which means that you can plug a CAM adapter into this slot, and plug a TopUp TV subscription card into the CAM adapter slot.
At the time of writing, using a CAM means that users of a NetGem I-player (not the BT version), the Nokia 221T, as well as certain models of iDTV (integrated digital TV sets), can make use of a CAM to get Top Up TV.
The CAM adapters cost around £40-£50, and are in addition to the cost of a set-top box and a Top Up TV subscription. To order a CAM, go to Currys , BT Shop, Empire Direct or try Ebay.co.uk.
Latest: Currys are selling a CAM plus TopUp TV card in one package for under £50 , which may save you money

...or you could get an old AstonCrypt 1.05 CAM off EBay for £10. Mine works better than the "official" TopUpTV CAM!

CAM (Conditional Access Module) is the bit bit that takes the card, the slot is called a CI (Common Interface).

Just to clear that up....

and the aston cam works better because it's forgien has had time to mature with the firmware on it...
