The end of vcd/cdr

THe days of vcd could be numbered as prices of cdr are set to rise by 30%. Manufacturers of discs are concentrating on the production of dvdr so while cdr prices are rising dvd prices are falling rapidly.
Could it be time to buy a dvd writer? What is the best dvd writer at the moment?

that may not be so as you know KISS have released a dvd player capable of reading Divx format so you may see an upturn in cdr usage if this takes off.
as you know if cdr usage increases the manufacturers will keep
a level according to demand.
also just bought a VIVASTAR dvd-rw seems to be ok
