Celtic will be looking to maintain their advantage at the top of the SPL table over the Easter weekend.

Gordon Strachan's men have been in fine form of late and hammered Falkirk 4-0 in midweek to stay three points above Rangers.

But they face a tough trip to Tynecastle on Saturday lunchtime as Hearts aim to boost their European hopes in what promises to be a tight battle for third place.

Rangers are at home to Motherwell and will be determined to capitalise on any slip-up by Celtic with time running out in the title race.

Motherwell are unbeaten in their last three games but currently stand seventh and will realise they have to keep up their encouraging form if they are to salvage something from the season.

Fourth-placed Aberdeen have been very consistent in recent weeks and will be confident of claiming victory against an Inverness side still scrapping towards the foot of the table.

There is another key contest in the relegation battle as rock-bottom Falkirk travel to Rugby Park to take on a Kilmarnock team that has not won in the league since the turn of the year.

Hamilton, with one point from their past five games, entertain fifth-placed Dundee United in Saturday's final game.

Aberdeen v Inverness CT

Zander Diamond will miss out for Aberdeen because of an ankle injury.

Fellow defender Andrew Considine and midfielder Mark Kerr are also unavailable through suspension.

However, strikers Darren Mackie (hamstring) and Tommy Wright (illness) are both back in contention after missing last weekend's 1-1 draw at Motherwell.

Inverness boss Terry Butcher has no injury worries and can welcome back goalkeeper and former Dons number one Ryan Esson to replace Michael Fraser.

Striker Andy Barrowman, who scored in the opening-day win at Pittodrie, is pushing for a starting place after scoring in the reserves' draw with Celtic in midweek.

Hamilton v Dundee United

Hamilton welcome Tomas Cerny and Simon Mensing back from suspension for their important home match.

Goalkeeper Cerny missed last weekend's 4-0 defeat at Celtic, while midfielder Mensing has been sidelined for three games after breaching the disciplinary points threshold and getting himself sent off for the reserves.

On-loan Hoops forward Paul McGowan is available again after being forced to sit out the game against his parent club, while defender Trent McClenahan could make his first start since February, despite needing double hernia surgery.

Dundee United are without striker Jon Daly after he suffered a double cruciate ligament injury against Hibernian last weekend.

The Irishman faces extensive surgery and a year on the sidelines before he is likely to be back playing again.

Midfielder Scott Robertson is still sidelined with his persistent groin problem and his season also appears to be over. Defender Darren Dods remains a doubt with a calf problem but will be given every opportunity to prove his fitness.

Hearts v Celtic

Hearts striker Gary Glen is battling to feature after suffering an ankle knock on reserve duty this week, but otherwise manager Csaba Laszlo has a number of selection options.

However, midfielder Laryea Kingston is unavailable because of a hamstring problem and is still two weeks away from training. Defender Jason Thomson (hamstring) also remains on the sidelines.

Georgios Samaras is out for Celtic with a thigh strain and Scott Brown, Darren O'Dea and Stephen McManus are all doubtful after picking up knocks during the 4-0 win over Falkirk on Wednesday.

Paul Hartley is fit to return from a hamstring injury but Shaun Maloney and John Kennedy are not ready despite resuming training.

Kilmarnock v Falkirk

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies hopes to have three players back for the bottom-of-the-table encounter.

Midfielder Craig Bryson returns after suspension and Tim Clancy has recovered from the virus that kept him out of last weekend's defeat by Hearts.

Jefferies is also optimistic about Frazer Wright's chances of returning from a knee problem. James Fowler (foot) and Allan Russell (knee) are still out.

Falkirk manager John Hughes has been boosted by the news that Steven Pressley and Tam Scobbie are fit.

The defensive duo were forced off in Wednesday's 4-0 defeat at Celtic but are in the squad for the key trip to Rugby Park.

But top scorer Steve Lovell (knee) and fellow forward Mark Stewart (groin) again miss out, although they are both due to return to training next week.

Rangers v Motherwell

Rangers manager Walter Smith has seven players missing through injury for the home clash with Motherwell.

Kyle Lafferty (ligament damage), Kenny Miller (hamstring), Kirk Broadfoot (foot), Lee McCulloch (calf) and long-term casualty Kevin Thomson (knee) are all still out.

They have been joined on the casualty list by DaMarcus Beasley (ribs) and Sasa Papac (ankle), who were both injured against St Mirren on Wednesday night.

Rangers will also be without Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor, who continue to serve a two-week club suspension.

Motherwell skipper Stephen Craigan will miss out with a calf injury and is also likely to sit out the visit St Mirren the following weekend.

Motherwell otherwise have a full squad with Maros Klimpl available again after suspension.

Hearts 1 Celtic 1

Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic were held to a draw by a determined Hearts side at Tynecastle.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink fired Celtic into a first-minute lead with a shot from the edge of the box.

But Bruno Aguiar's superb free-kick drew Hearts level 13 minutes before the half-time interval.

Hearts' Marius Zaliukas and Celtic's Shunsuke Nakamura had efforts saved in the second half and late pressure from the visitors failed to yield a winner.

was a good free kick the bassa lol looks liek its a case of who is going to fall over the finish line first.

Note i intentionally said fall and not cross :p

Yes its gonna be tight this season.
Thats another good win for Rangers today.

Rangers 3 Motherwell 1

Kris Boyd grabbed a double as Rangers moved to within a point of Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic with a convincing win over Motherwell.

Andrius Velicka forced the ball home after two minutes to give an injury-hit Rangers a dream start at Ibrox.

Boyd powered home a superb long-range drive eight minutes later, but John Sutton matched that before the break.

However, Boyd made the points safe after the break from the penalty spot after Pedro Mendes was brought down.

Defeat was a blow to Motherwell's hopes of a top-six finish and could find themselves three points behind with one game left before the league splits into two should Hibernian defeat St Mirren on Monday.

Hamilton 0 Dundee Utd 1

Dundee United edged closer to a top six slot in the Scottish Premier League with a narrow victory over Hamilton.

Craig Conway's unlikely fourth minute opener separated the sides after the former Ayr man struck from close-range past Hamilton keeper Tomas Cerny.

A double attempt on goal in the 22nd minute by United's James Wesolowski and Prince Buaben were thwarted by Cerny.

James McCarthy could have scored with a late chance, but drove the ball straight at Lucas Zaluska.

Kilmarnock 3 Falkirk 0

Kilmarnock recorded their first Scottish Premier League win of 2009 thanks to Kevin Kyle's hat-trick against bottom club Falkirk.

Kyle beat stranded Falkirk goalkeeper Dani Mallo to give Killie an 11th-minute lead.

The home side doubled their tally nine minutes before half-time through Kyle's deft header.

Falkirk improved after the interval but were unable to reduce the deficit before Kyle nodded his third late on.

Aberdeen 1 Inverness CT 0

Gary McDonald scored the winner against Inverness Caledonian Thistle that secured a top-six finish in the Scottish Premier League for Aberdeen.

The match looked to be petering out into a draw before McDonald headed home from deep inside the penalty box from a Charlie Mulgrew free-kick.

Aberdeen's Lee Miller forced a magnificent saved by Ryan Esson at full stretch in the first half.

Filipe Morais squandered the best chances for lacklustre Inverness.

We were robbed!!

Unfortunately that isnt true, the best team won and we really dont look like scoring - going to be a nail biting relegation battle for us bottom of the league teams.

Inverness away next saturday is going to a helluva tough test for us.

St Mirren 1 Hibernian 1

Steven Fletcher's goal on the stroke of half-time secured an unlikely point for Hibs against a luckless St Mirren side.

Saints midfielder Andy Dorman got his third SPL goal in as many games with a superb opener after 28 minutes.

Despite pinning Hibs in their own half for long spells, St Mirren could not extend their advantage.

And they were made to pay by the ruthless Fletcher when he collected Derek Riordan's lofted pass and coolly drilled the ball past Mark Howard.

St Mirren, who knew victory would see them move two points ahead of tenth-placed Inverness CT and in the process ease their relegation fears,
